God’s Love, Mercy, & Grace

Sermons Teaching Series: In His Words | March 11, 2020
We first get hit with God’s love, mercy and grace. First, it is God promise to make things right.
Jesus word’s did some WORK this Sunday (based on several conversations had after both gatherings). people are wrestling with what Jesus is speaking to us right now.
The concept is jarring that Jesus’ starting point is to bless us with grace and mercy, even before we knew it was coming. One very intelligent younger man asked: “What about God asking us to do something to help ourselves? Isn’t there a ‘meet me halfway’ concept?” It IS amazing, hard to accept, too radical to fathom, that when God talks to us he STARTS with this:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.”
We first get hit with God’s love, mercy and grace. First, it is God promise to make things right.
This coming Sunday we will start to hear Jesus’ Asks, but only after we have been first thoroughly grounded in his saving ways.
